This is a temporary cache, as the internet itself will fade like a notebook caught in tide, useful only for the organizing of thoughts, not for aiding in the permanence of ideas.

Silent Stone / Piedra Muda

Walk past, and I remain a silent stone.

I watch sunlight illuminate your hair,

And know the shape of paths you walk alone,

And love the voice I’ll never claim nor share.

The world has set your course to other seas,

And I have sails that will not cross that tide;

Calling out your name would only displease

The quiet harbor where you ought to bide.

So let my longing be a gentle thing–

A bird that never lands upon your sill,

A half-remembered tune that breezes bring,

Then carry off beyond the distant hill.

I guard this flame that no one sees burning–

And let the world sooth me in the turning.
